CONNOR WREN
Songwriting • Vocal Arranging • Music for storytelling
Connor Wren (born Connor Warren Smith) is a Los Angeles-based songwriter, vocalist, and arranger whose work spans contemporary pop, film and television, and children's media. With almost 15 years of professional experience, over 175 studio credits and a background in composition, vocal production, and performance, Connor brings a singer's perspective and a storyteller's instinct to every project.
01 / ORIGINAL SONGWRITING
Contemporary pop rooted in storytelling, character, and memorable hooks.
These selections from my debut album, Second Adolescence, showcase my approach to contemporary pop songwriting, combining memorable melodic hooks, expressive vocal production, and lyrics rooted in identity and personal storytelling.
SECOND ADOLESCENCE: Rhythmic, story-driven pop with an ear-worm hook and strong melodic identity.
BODY LANGUAGE: Hook-forward contemporary pop emphasizing playful lyricism, vocal texture, and commercial sensibility.
02 / VOCAL ARRANGING
Expressive ensemble arrangements combining intricate harmony, musical storytelling, and contemporary pop sensibility.
My vocal arrangements draw on years of experience as a professional studio vocalist, ensemble singer, and published choral composer. I approach each project with an emphasis on musical storytelling, expressive harmony, and highlighting the strengths of the specific performer or ensemble.
These two CHANNEL 2K recordings demonstrate contrasting approaches: the emotional and cinematic development of The Climb, and the rhythmic energy, vocal interplay, and layered pop harmonies of The Party's Just Begun.
THE CLIMB (Music and Lyrics by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe). Vocal Arrangement by Connor Wren.
THE PARTY’S JUST BEGUN (Music and Lyrics by Matthew Gerrard and Robert S. (Robbie) Nevil). Vocal Arrangement by Connor Wren.
03 / CHILDREN’s MUSIC PRODUCTION
Original music for young audiences, from social-emotional learning to playful sing-a-long-and-learn lessons.
I've written and produced an extensive catalog of original music for HeidiSongs / Little Learning Songs, developing songs from specific creative briefs for young audiences. My work encompasses songwriting, vocal arranging, recording, production, mixing, and mastering.
These selections demonstrate my ability to translate educational and social-emotional objectives into engaging, age-appropriate music.
THE SAD SONG (The Brief: Write a short song exploring the feeling of sadness for a 4-6 year old audience. Include a section of breathing to process the emotion.)
CAN I HAVE A TURN (The Brief: Write a short song encouraging kids to ask if they can take turns when fighting over toys or activities).
